I remember the weight in my chest the night before I flew to India.
It wasn’t from the suitcases or the endless travel checklist.
It was from Sauli.
Not being able to explain to her why I had to leave.
Not knowing how to prepare her for the days that would follow.
And truthfully—not knowing how to prepare myself.
She wasn’t just a dog.
She was my shadow.
My tornado.
My anchor in all the chaos of life.
And yet, I had to place her in a crate and trust a series of strangers with her journey across the globe.
The guilt? It was sharp.
The anxiety? Sharper.
What if she was scared mid-flight?
What if something went wrong at 30,000 feet?
What if she thought I had abandoned her?
I sat alone on the other side of the world, tears streaming down my face, unable to sleep.
I kept wondering—how was she doing? Was she okay?
You see, Sauli had crate anxiety. She had broken out of nearly every crate we’d ever tried.
She was a Houdini in fur.
And now, she was all alone. In a crate. In the sky. Somewhere above the clouds between continents.
But somehow…
She made it.
My brave little girl made it.
When we finally reunited in India, she looked at me with hesitation for a split second—and then, just like that, she leapt into recognition.

If I could make Sauli understand one thing, it would be this: You are the heart and soul of my life, the reason behind every decision, every change, every moment of joy I create for us.
I’d want her to truly know that when I sit down to write, plan, or dream, it’s not just for me—it’s for us. From moving to new cities to creating a cozy home filled with love and laughter, every step I take is guided by her happiness and well-being. She’s not just my companion; she’s my greatest teacher, my little manifester, and my partner in this beautiful journey.
I’d want her to understand that the sacrifices, the late nights, the big moves, and even the small daily routines are all done with her in mind. Her joy, her comfort, and her wagging tail are my life’s compass. And while I know she lives in the moment, with pure love and trust, I’d want her to know that her presence has shifted my entire world for the better.
