  • 🐾 The Most Money I Ever Spent (Without Ever Buying a Thing)

    I didn’t buy her.

I saw her face on a rescue app—tiny, fierce, already plotting her future—and I flew across the country. We met in a hotel room she would proceed to destroy. Twice.

She didn’t cost me anything at first.

But then came the flights. The crates. The training. The Uber rides with scratched leather. The new fences. The destroyed leashes. The daycare trials (and eventual expulsion). The raw food. The liver treats. The vet visits. The guilt. The joy. The freedom. The chaos. The calm.

    And in return?
She gave me a story. And then another. And then—one more. The third in the series is out now: Sauli and the Great Escape. And let me tell you, the title is not a metaphor.

    Was it worth it?

You can’t put a price on the moment a wild, scared soul starts trusting you.

You can’t quantify the joy of a dog finally sleeping peacefully at your feet—or the mayhem she stirs up before she gets there.

Rescuing Sauli was never about cost.
    It was about commitment.
It was about showing up for someone who didn’t ask to be left behind.
And it was about earning love, day by day, with patience, humor, and reinforced fences.

So yeah, it was the most money I ever spent.

And I’d spend it all again.
Because she rescued me right back.

If you’ve ever loved a rescue, you’ll get it.
And if you haven’t met Sauli yet—start with Book 1. She’s not for the faint of heart, but she’ll get under your skin in the best way.

  • 🌕 What Am I Curious About These Days?

Lately, I’ve been curious about freedom.
Not the big, capital-letter Freedom plastered on flags. I mean the small, quiet kind.

The freedom to leap first and ask questions later.
To live uncontained. To be messy, wild, loyal, disobedient, hilarious—and still be deeply loved.

    Which brings me to Sauli.

She doesn’t follow the rules. Not for long. She escapes. She chases. She climbs. She finds new ways to vanish, usually when the stakes are highest—like say, during Thanksgiving dinner, or across the chaotic streets of Mumbai.

And yet, every single time, she returns. Or I find her. And our story continues.

That’s the kind of freedom I’m curious about. The kind where you can run away, screw up, crash the playdate van, and still be held. Still be home.

    🐾 The Adventure Continues…

Writing The Adventures of Sauli the Rescue Pup has taught me more about loyalty and liberation than any self-help book ever did. And the latest one, Sauli and the Great Escape?
Whew. That one cracked something open.

Because it’s not just a book about a dog escaping yards and daycare and decorum.
It’s about a soul that refuses to be boxed in.

Kind of like all of us, right?

    So, yeah…

    That’s what I’m curious about.
    Where freedom meets love.
    Where wildness meets belonging.
Where the next escape leads—not away, but maybe closer to ourselves.

And if you’re curious too, Sauli’s got a story for you. Actually, three. And counting.

  • 🐾 The Joyful Habit I’ll Never Quit (and How It Led to a Wild Adventure)

There’s one habit that never fails to bring me joy.
No matter how messy life gets, how long the to-do list is, or how many emails are sitting there blinking at me like needy ghosts…
    I do this one thing.

    I write Sauli stories.

Not the polished kind (at least not at first). I mean the scratchy, coffee-splashed, voice-note-in-a-grocery-store-line kind. The real ones. The ones where Sauli knocks over a flowerpot or launches herself across the couch like a kangaroo on espresso.

It always starts with a sentence.
    Sometimes it’s:
“She jumped the fence during Thanksgiving dinner.”
    Or:
“The groomer was sitting on the sidewalk when I arrived.”

    (Yes, that happened.)

🐶 Why It Brings Me Joy

Because Sauli is chaos with four paws and a soul.
She reminds me that life isn’t about keeping everything clean and contained.
It’s about the mess. The unpredictability. The pure joy of running wild… even if it means getting kicked out of daycare.

When I sit down to write her escapades, I remember to live again. To laugh. To relive the absurdity. To honour the weird, wild magic of loving a dog who refuses to behave.

And honestly? That’s the habit that keeps my heart soft.

📚 So About This Latest Escapade…

If you’ve been following The Adventures of Sauli the Rescue Pup, you know she’s no stranger to drama.
But the third book in the series, Sauli and the Great Escape, takes it to a whole new level.

    Let’s just say:

    • Bathhouse bans? ✅
    • Playpen jailbreaks? ✅
    • Mumbai street chaos while chasing Grandpa? ✅✅✅

    It’s all in there.
And yes, I laughed while writing every single page. Sometimes through tears. Sometimes while holding my head in disbelief that this dog is real.

    🐾 TL;DR?

My joyful habit is writing Sauli’s stories.
They keep me grounded, amused, and a little bit more alive.
And if you need a little spark, a little laughter, or just a reminder that it’s okay to be gloriously uncontainable…

Come read Sauli and the Great Escape.
She’s got a story (and probably mud on her paws) waiting for you.
