Lately, I’ve been curious about freedom.
Not the big, capital-letter Freedom plastered on flags. I mean the small, quiet kind.
The freedom to leap first and ask questions later.
To live uncontained. To be messy, wild, loyal, disobedient, hilarious—and still be deeply loved.
Which brings me to Sauli.
She doesn’t follow the rules. Not for long. She escapes. She chases. She climbs. She finds new ways to vanish, usually when the stakes are highest—like say, during Thanksgiving dinner, or across the chaotic streets of Mumbai.
And yet, every single time, she returns. Or I find her. And our story continues.
That’s the kind of freedom I’m curious about. The kind where you can run away, screw up, crash the playdate van, and still be held. Still be home.
🐾 The Adventure Continues…
Writing The Adventures of Sauli the Rescue Pup has taught me more about loyalty and liberation than any self-help book ever did. And the latest one, Sauli and the Great Escape?
Whew. That one cracked something open.
Because it’s not just a book about a dog escaping yards and daycare and decorum.
It’s about a soul that refuses to be boxed in.
Kind of like all of us, right?
So, yeah…
That’s what I’m curious about.
Where freedom meets love.
Where wildness meets belonging.
Where the next escape leads—not away, but maybe closer to ourselves.
And if you’re curious too, Sauli’s got a story for you. Actually, three. And counting.
