I am Pawfect!

What is one thing you would change about yourself?

If I could change one thing about myself, it would be my uncanny ability to always attract the most chaotic, mischievous, and downright unpredictable pets in the universe. Don’t get me wrong—I love them to bits. But every time I hear about someone’s angelic dog who “sleeps through the night” or “listens on the first command,” I start to wonder if I was handed the circus auditions instead of companions.

Take Sugarplum, for instance. This escape artist once decided her crate was optional and tried to stage a jailbreak that could’ve been a scene in an action movie. She also has a knack for making me question my life choices when she decides a screen door or car ride is her personal battleground.

Honestly, I sometimes wish I could channel the calm, patient energy of those pet parents you see on Instagram—the ones whose pets seem to meditate alongside them or fetch slippers without destroying half the house. Instead, my life is a comedy sketch with my furry co-stars delivering one unscripted punchline after another.

But then again, chaos has its charm. So maybe I wouldn’t change a thing—except maybe invest in sturdier screen doors.
