Top 3 Family Favorite Meals: Tradition and Love

What are your family’s top 3 favorite meals?

We as a family LOVE traditional meals. These meals allow my parents to talk about my grandparents. They also enjoy sharing stories about our pups on extension.

We eat a lot of fish a common family favorite.

Nice fish curries brilliantly cooked in coconut milk and mid spices is an authentic dish passed along through family generations. And I must say, since I cook for my pup, fish makes my pups meals very special. I add a little coconut oil to his plate. I also blend turmeric to make it smell of authentic fish curry.

We love traditional Indian vegetables.

Bitter gourd, brinjal, cauliflower and cabbage are all family favorites.

These veggies are very healthy. My pup loves munching on some of them. He does this while my mom cuts them to get them ready for cooking.

So it’s a win-win.

Then there are authentic meat curries, goat curry being a traditional family favorite.

We make these over a thick tomato and onion gravy. Sometimes we add potatoes to give it the right texture. This also gets the additional flavor into the potatoes.

On the days when there is goat curry, my pup enjoys a special meal. It includes goat broth and rice with meat chunks. A little yogurt and turmeric on top are flavored with coconut oil.

Sitting together and eating meals cooked at home is a family tradition. And of course we involve our pups in our traditions. So we have family recipes for them as well.
